It’s that time of year again! iPhone season!!!!! 🎉🥳🎊
Apple’s September Event, Wonderlust. has been announced for Tomorrow (Tuesday), September 12 at 10 AM PDT. I cannot wait!!!
For those that wonder, how do you really know that an iPhone will be announced, well, it’s obvious. Apple has been announcing their iPhones in September for around 8 years (except the iPhone 12 during Covid which faced delays). The rumors are everywhere about the iPhone 15, so we are all expecting it. Leaks, rumors, renders all everywhere. How could Apple disappoint us?
Let me just give quick recap of what has been rumored so far and that I have said in my earlier post One Month from the Apple Event! Before the event was officially announced, I was (of course) expecting the iPhone 15 lineup with an array of new features. What is rumored for the normal 15’s are an inheritance of features from the Pro’s last year, such as a 48-Megapixel Main Camera, Dynamic Island, and the A16 Bionic Chip. All or rumored to feature a USB-C port instead of Lightning and new shades of colors. The Pro’s will be treated with a Titanium Case (a first for an iPhone), A17 Bionic Chip, smaller bezels, faster USB-C with possibly Thunderbolt, an Action button like the Apple Watch Ultra, and the Pro Max (or Ultra?!) to have a periscope lens for greater zoom than before. I have heard that the periscope lens is one of the most requested features by users for the iPhone 15, but I personally doubt that. The iPhones already have immaculate zoom, so why more? As iJustine says, “No normal customer would say ‘oh hold on, I would like a periscopic lens.” This would never happen, so I don’t see the real appeal, except for people seeking out this feature specifically, not a normal customer like most of us.
What’s the new rumors? Well, what has sparked my interest is the color-matched braided USB-C cables for each different shade of iPhone. Apple is pulling from the MacBooks and iMac, with the color-matched cables braided cables too. And, it looks like Apple will start to faze out their silicone and leather products from now on, which means possibly no more silicone or leather iPhone cases as well. One that might replace at least one might be called “FineWoven,” which could be either braided or a leather-silicone like mix.
Let’s just analyze the image for the event a minute. You can see a dissipating Apple logo with a dust or mist appearance. It seems very desert-like, and some sand floating off into the wind. Maybe more WiFi connectivity with WiFi 6E (which was rumored for the Pro’s) or 5G connectivity? More freedom when off-the-grid? More capability with Emergency-SOS via Satellite? And the name, Wonderlust. Wanderlust, though not the same word, means someone who likes to travel. So, could that elude to what I have said already? Wonderlust could just mean Wanderlust, with Wonder representing how everyone will be amazed by what will be announced. I know I will, no matter what will be announced!
