Today, Apple announced an event/online press release of new products, most likely Macs by the logo. With the signature Apple logo shown on the website, it then morphs into a Finder logo form Mac, clearly hinting at new Mac’s. There is a bit of a spooky theme in the name and logo with the launches just before Halloween.
The question is though, what will they announce? M3 chip? New Mac’s with the M2 and more powerful versions of it? A new iMac has been rumored for a while, sometimes to skip the M2 generation in favor of the M3 chip. Also a new MacBook Pro 13” seems to be in the works with M3, so they could also be announced.
Here’s what I’d like to see: a brand-new MacBook Pro 13” with a more updated design, since the current iteration seems a bit dated compared to the other Pros or Air models. A new iMac with new features other than an upgraded chip to make it still upgradable from the previous version, while still retaining the abundance of color choice (which is my favorite part). I would also love to see a new 27” iMac for a better screen size, while still having the great capabilities of the 24”. As a surprise, Apple should announce a couple new iPads, as they were rumors earlier to be announced this month as well. A new iPad Air and Mini would be awesome. Spec bumps for both, and possible surprise would suit my fancy for these devices.
One thing that I would like to mull over though is why Apple would stream the event at 5 PM PDT rather than the usual 10 AM PDT. Here are some of my theories: It may be because Apple wants more people to see the event at 5 PM live-streamed to get more publicity for the announcements. Most people are at work or school at the 10 AM time. Or, Apple has something big happening in the morning that cannot permit the usual 10 AM time.
The 5 PM time could also be directly related to the new Macs being announced (as the logo suggests), or might not? I do not know how the things being announced could affect the time of the event, but who knows! Just my thoughts.
Overall, let’s wait and see what is announced. Maybe some of the rumors or my hopes are true, it we’ll just have to anticipate for the event.
Here is the video to watch it live Monday, 10/30 at 5PM PDT.
